“Yours”

by rosey   Aug 16, 2019

The first day we spoke you called me “Princess”.
At first I didn’t agree,
But the more I got to know you,
The title grew on me.

And then you called me “exquisite”,
A phrase I found unique,
I’ve heard “beautiful” yes, “sexy” sure,
But exquisite? I did not see.

You call me “A rose among women”,
At that I can’t help but blush.
Your genuine words leave me speechless,
And send my heart in a rush.

One night you called me your “Angel”,
After a teasing message I sent,
Then proceeded to tell me why I was,
And how much that actually meant.

When I sent you a song and a poem,
That I wrote special for you,
You humbled your heart before me,
And told me that I was your “muse”.

I’ve never been one for endearments,
But yours always make me feel special.
The words themselves are beautiful,
But the one using them,
“Exceptional”.

Out of all the things you call me,
The one that makes my heart soar,
Is when you say you’re “Mine”,
And then you call me “Yours”.

Written with such innocence and wonder of this new love, I couldn't help but smile! Your stanzas have consistent flow and I love how certain words, spoken with such sincerity by certain people, can cause us to see the world in a whole new light. There's this spark, this excitement, this color.

    Beautiful!
