I've had this experience with several people in the past, and the amount of emotions in reaching someone's voicemail, it's unnerving in so many ways. Your words were earnest here - wanting that freedom for both of you, as closure can be crucial for so many people. Maybe some people don't need it as much as others, but communication is necessary, as uncomfortable as it may be. As much as it can hurt or be hard for someone to open that dialogue up again and open their heart. I've been on the other end too, the times of ignoring a particular subject and choosing silence because I don't know how to approach something that is new or uncertain to me.
