Of Winter Winds

by 31   Oct 19, 2021

Flee now sweet princes
Turn thine princely coat
High thee away to the sea
For the winter winds blow
From desert to cove
Bringing sweet messages to me

A long ago morning
In the small of the dell
Before the old elm tree
Words spoken of kin
Where out or wherein
Wherever they are I’ll be

Who will sit upon
These empty thrones
Now the princes are all gone
Lights lost and unseen
But in the tears of the Queen
Where my dark light is shone
