Between You and Me

Our love remains a secret; our eyes will only show
Whenever we are passing, only we will know
We cannot show our feelings, how much that we're both moved
Friends and our family, have shown they disapprove

But when we are together, I cannot help but hold
Our bodies wrapped in arms, I wish they'd all behold
Nothing can be closer, to feel your heart through skin
And who are they to judge, when love can begin?

Though we are surrounded, with secrets that we share
When minds become suspicious, while acting unaware
It's so hard to feel distanced, while feeling so consumed
To try not raising eyebrows, to thoughts that are presumed

While whispering our love, with minds that we both read
Conforming to their wishes, ignoring all our needs
I once thought that true love, belonged to just two hearts
But not when friends and family, all trying to take part
