A Special Place

by Walter   Aug 12, 2025

I compare our love to the rain
But not at all like a storm
There is no hate, there is no pain
Although our love is not the norm

Being used to skies overcast
We no longer look for the sun
Though something must have made us last
Without aiming for the long run

We've learnt to both share a roof
And turn a blind eye when we fight
The time gone by looks like proof
We must be doing something right

Too easy to call it quits
As others seem to often do
I think I must be using wits
As also you will always do

And steady ground is what we share
A special place where we call truce
And I will always find you there
We neither look for an excuse

Because here we both see beyond
To whatever falls from the sky
On our cloud we both respond
A make-up kiss that leaves us high

Before you might pull the plug
Just try to find your special place
There's no need for a magic rug
If you both cut to the chase

I compare our love to the rain
Where we both learned to dance
And here we found love in our veins
If only we would risk the chance
