Perversa Memorias

by Vera Campbell   Jan 16, 2022

A questioning feeling.
The sense of the ocean around me,
Soft sand beneath my feet,
The calls of the twisted seagulls above me.
Memories hidden underneath.
I am not alone, there is someone else here.
Multiples of pupils, learning from my mistakes.
What to take, and what not to take.
Why must the world be your friend and your end?
Who made it this way?
I step towards them,
Their giggles surround me, drown me, enter me, become me.
Am I who I thought I was?
