Without You

by BOB GALLO   Jun 8, 2022

When you think, the whole universe starts to make sense.
When you speak,
everything around you begin to listen.
The whole world falls in your tears and sorrows
and soars in your laughter.

Even the bottom of the oceans
hear your heartbeats,
and all the time pieces
adapt to your rhythm.

Everyone wants exactly what you desire.
Everyone is afire
with the flames that burns
in the furnace of your passion.
The same surge of thirst that goes through your tongue,
dehydrate all the deserts.
And the waters that quench your thirst
irrigates all the wheats.

You are the rain of all the gardens
the fountains of bursting blooms,
the flood of summer fruits.

Without your attention no flower ever blossoms,
no caterpillar never metamorphoses.
Without your watch no trains are in time.
Without your bruised chest, the gash of your swollen guitar
no serenade is ever sung.
Without your gullet
no bird ever sings.

If you die
the whole world dies without you.
