Letter of the Departed

You know, I never ever saw evil,
In that face of an angel.
I ceased to believe there existed hell,
When I saw heaven in you, Del.

I ceased to exist as a madman,
In pursuit of peace only in death.
I ceased to pretend as an irishman
Dancing with an empty bottle in hand.

I cried no more under this sickening smile.
I don’t count the days left before I die.
Your embrace always calms my jittery behavior.
Warming the cold night like a brazier.

The mistakes of the world makes you faultless,
To the way you live in grave, you harnessed
It’s needless for you to be honest,
But to love the way you are was a test.

They tell too many tales about you, Del.
Through your unawareness this was an obstacle.
Inspired to plow those periwinkle for you,
To forget the fetid scent of your truth.

To your flawful heart, I vowed to love,
Every inch of your past, present and future.
From the afterparty’s mishap,
To your shoeboxes that remain obscure.

By the time you had read this Del,
My earth from may said it's farewell,
But my hope remained in certainty,
That you’ll remember you loved me.

May the heaven pity your mind to not recall,
At night you lose sense of who you really are.
May you learn to live independently and rationally.
I wish you years of ease Del. Love, Henry.
