Holding Your Hands

by BOB GALLO   Aug 31, 2022

I hold your hand
to feel you,
to feel your presence beside mine,
to feel your heart beat inside of me,
to reach to the perquisite of being us,
to the fountain of flutters
on feather-fort
of our peacock tails,
our kaleidoscopic fusion of zest, emotions.

I hold your hand to be present,
Like a candle light
a floating rowboat,
the carriage of presence.

I hold your hand to defy annihilation
to search for endlessness not along,
but in the volume of the time,

to live forever
in the very moment, we name now,
to stop the world,
-this chatter box of self-recognition, -
to bridge to one another
to rest in the respite of our nest, our connection,
on the hammock that we tie to each other ends,
between us
to suspend our separation.
I hold your hand
where every pulsation joints

I hold your hand to defy gravity,
to find my missing wings.
I hold your hand not to exclude others
I hold your hand
to join the collective, us.
