Waiting For You

by Marcie Cruz-Monge   Nov 20, 2022

Your love planted a seed,
Your love is all I need.
Happiness wasn’t far away,
Happiness that would fadeaway.

Every night as I go to bed,
I try to get you out of my head.
Dreams of you when I sleep,
When I wake up I just weep.

As the months go by,
I still ask myself why.
Everyday wanting you more,
Feeling it deep within my core.

I look for the look in your eyes,
A look that I will memorize.
Do you still love me?
You still have my heart’s key.

Not So Happily Ever After

In the beginning there was love,
A love given from above.
I thought this was it,
Didn’t know you would split.

As she played her game,
I started to see the flame.
Thought our love was stronger,
That our love with conquer.

So many questions enter my head,
Making it hard to go to bed.
My heart was not ready,
A love that I will always carry.

In the end she won,
What have I done?
We were suppose to be a team,
Our love got ripped at the seam
