These Veins

by Tara-Kay   Feb 23, 2023

Thought I had it all figured out...

Dripping water hits my skin,
Blood keeps pumping through these veins.
Every emotion I let it in,
Till it chokes me with its chains.

Ashes burn and lightning strikes,
Underneath its just the same,
Just like ice, the coldness bites,
Blood keeps pumping through these veins.

Cover me up so I am invisible,
Invincible, incomprehensible...

Thought I had it all figured out...
Blood keeps pumping through these veins,
Keeping me breathing, fighting, hoping...
Until its just my bones that will remain.
