All the Answers

You grip my finger in your tiny hand
and you look at me as if I have all the answers,
but baby girl, I only know this,

Let the wind breeze happiness through your hair,
and let that song in your heart be heard.
When things are getting you down, stand up tall and scream as loud as you want to, you'll have many lessons to learn.

Don't let anybody take away your smile, darling,
because they'll try to, over and over again.
Don't waste days wishing on love, it'll find you when you need it and when it doesn't cause you pain.

The world is a place that sometimes I hate,
these walls can feel suffocating and the sky can be so grey.
One day I'll voice it in a way you can understand

But for now my perfect little girl, just sleep, dream all the good dreams, and know that I, your Mama, loves you always.
