Please forgive me

by Mark Hopwood   Jul 17, 2023

Please forgive my petulance,
It's not who I'm meant to be,
This needy fool, needing your love so much,
Is clear for all to see,
But although I need your love so much,
Because you are the love of my very soul,
I need to control my impatience for you,
And be the man, the giving role.
I know this now, it's plain to see,
I'm sorry I found it hard to see before,
But, baby. You are my everything.
Please don't close the door.

I need your love, what I need is you,
But I have so so much to give,
I forget this, by trying to take your love,
And this is no way to live.
So give your love to me freely,
My love is freely and wholly yours,
Let me be the ocean that warmly washes over you,
Because you are the land and the shores.

Please forgive my petulance,
I know now how wrong I've been,
To demand so much from you, my love
My Soulmate, my Goddess, my Queen.
So although I need your love so much,
You really are the love of my very being and soul,
I will control my impatience for you,
And be the man, the giving role.
I know this now, it's plain to see,
I'm sorry I found it hard to see before,
But, baby. You are my everything.
Please don't close the door.

I love you, with my heart so true,
My love for you is needy but pure
We are entwined all through time, baby
Of this I'm certain, I'm sure.
