That Special Touch

by Paul H   Oct 25, 2023

I wait patiently in the room,
Velvet curtains closed so tight,
Eager to feel your special touch
In the morning, noon, or night.
It isn’t long before you sit
Just a few inches away
And, in a matter of seconds
Melodies are what we play.
Among the ebony and ivory
Music is created with care,
As you lightly press my keys
There’s an affinity that we share.
Your delight is clearly conveyed
As emotions move your heart,
It’s like, whenever you’re with me
We have a harmony from the start.
But, alas, you have to leave,
And, for a while, there’s an empty seat.
Still, I’ll wait for your special touch
When we’ll make notes blend so sweet.
