Shattered Walls

by East Poetry   Oct 28, 2023

I really did feel loved by you,
for the short time that it lasted.
Much to young to understand,
What your breakup would have casted.

Its one thing that you lost me,
taken, because drugs became your plight.
But its another that you lost me
and didn't for me fight.

I don't care the circumstance,
or the lack of means you had.
Was I not enough for you?
To keep my mom and dad.

Just realized this today in fact,
as a child, was "construction" my true call?
because I can tell you this right now,
I built up quite THE WALL!

A wall I built so perfectly,
I never knew till now.
That I have been emotionless,
And I still am shocked at how.

How it allowed the vise I have,
to be such a subtle sin.
That I replaced the "love of a Wife"
and then... both my guardians!

Well... a new day has arrived for me.
And something different calls
I finally now am on to this...

And Im SHATTERING the Walls!
