Smoke Rings

by AnotherDay24   Mar 10, 2024

Blowing smoke rings on the patio
You said you'd quit when we both know
It's not an addiction to a box of tobacco
Oh we both know

We both know that you know that i know
Oh you know too much
Too much that it scares me
Too much that it haunts me
Every night

We both know that you know that i know
About the show that you put on
And the front that i put up
To guard our hearts and souls
When we both know all the while
That it'll all come crashing down
The second i say "I have to go"

We both know that you know that i know
About the dry smiles and the lies
Behind every "I am fine"
The longing in your eyes
Says more than any song can
And I'm begging with mine
To not let me go there again
Don't let me go there again

We both know that you know that i know
Oh you know too much
Too much that it scares me
Too much that it haunts me
Every night
