Maybe if I become
strong
they won't notice my
scars.
Maybe
all they'll see is
sinews and shoulders
in a tank top.
Maybe my legs
will say
"I can kick hard"
instead of
"I used to bleed."
I think the scars mean
strength in survival
but
that opinion
is not always
beautiful
