You remind me of the soft morning sunrises I use to watch by myself last summer;
I felt so at peace as I watched the dolphins play.
The sultry air that wrapped me in a light breeze as I drank my morning coffee was soft, warm, and sweet-
In all of the same ways that you are.
The co-regulation is unmatched;
The comfort of it all unanimous.
I can’t remember a time before you entered my life with a “hey”;
Then consistently showed up for me without expectation.
My mind was a blocked dam until you opened the flood gates.
Now you’re imprinted in my novels and intertwined in my poems.
You’re proud of me for accomplishments that are fifty percent yours because-
