In morning light

by Neutrino   May 4, 2026

The silence in this empty room
Is louder than the street
A heavy, hollow kinda gloom
Until the day we meet.

I see your smile in morning light
And hear you in the breeze
And staring at the phone all night
Helps my heart to be at ease.

The miles between us stretch so wide
Like a map of the not quite yet
With every thought of you inside
A sun that hasn't set.

I'm counting down the hours now
The minutes and the days
To get back to you, Not long now
And all your beautiful ways.
