Dear Friend

by Mark   Aug 11, 2026

Dear friend, diminished is your sight of late,
Obscuring the sun, obscuring the moon.
I fear your eyes reveal a bitter date
Of future travel, travelling too soon.
The darkness that is now your mind's abode,
My troubled mind did in my youth reside;
But I did lease, then onto sunrise road,
Into the light where now my thoughts abide.
Yes! Brightness here! I found within the muse
Of breath; the friendly forgotten truths to hold:
That breath you have in force, is breath to use,
And cherish each beyond the rarest gold.

My dear the sun and moon await your eyes
And here I wait for you within my sighs.
