I Still Love You

My heart is broken into a million shards
But my demeanor won't let it show
She tried to give me a million starts
But I took it for granted and now I know

The love of my life but who could tell
I ignored her pleas with complacency
The love of my life knows me very well
I ignored her plight with my apathy

The curtains closed to my surprise
Not understanding the damage caused
But you see the love to my surprise
Not something that can be paused

Remodeled man stepping to the plate
Only one objective that is to take
Renovated love with a clean slate
Only way to show what is at stake

Will she accept the love that will be shown
Or deny the heart that was born anew
Will she accept the love that has been regrown
Or deny my mouth to say I love you
