S’mores

by Beautiful Tragedy   Sep 20, 2026

We made s’more’s over the fire at your sisters house-
Double deckers with the best chocolate filled marshmallows I’ve ever had,
She asked me what my ring size was when I pulled the stickiness from my fingers.
I was debating on licking the marshmallow off your face when I answered her.
And you and I had laughed about my ex getting so angry over chocolate milk-
A loser with a beer can who was never extraordinary enough to be the subject of my inspiration,
I wonder how long he’s gonna blow up my email about the details of my life I purposely misconstrue in these poems.
It’s my favorite esoteric joke now.
We tee-peed the fire and sat on a Matt in the grass;
Fingers intertwined as your half drunk sister declared how happy she was for you and how much she likes me,
I kissed you later and tried to convince myself I haven’t been falling in love with you for months now.
We made s’more’s over the fire at your sisters house.
Double deckers with the best chocolate filled marshmallows I’ve ever had and-
When we got home and collapsed into laughter on the couch I realized I was in love with you.
