Jake

by Sam   Jul 23, 2004

Why don't you come home
and lay down next to me
make me feel safe again
it's my one and only plea

it's to be happy again
with you by my side
and your patriarichal nature
all my fears subside

time and time again I wish
you'd walk into that door
my imagination can make it real
you see into my core

of pain, tears, grief, anger
and the hurt your death caused
at the moment of your disappearance
the whole world paused

as I did when I found you were dead
and the key word is 'were'
now I know as you did that day
that life was only a blur.
