Once scared to explore and dare to dream
once believed i was alone not part of a team
i found my place in a world full of hatred
realised my own head was a temple held sacred
hearing racist jokes and pretending to laugh
moving along on an already made path
never made my own way or my own mark
lived in the shadows, in the dark
wanted to learn and be 'someone'
every time i failed it was no fun
i was told failing and trying again is the key
as hard as i tried, i thought things weren't meant to be
without faith and belief i staggered on
hoping maybe one day i could grow strong
days were long and nights were cold
i just wanted someone there to hold
one night i did something i couldn't fail
if i did i would b close 2 hell
standing on the bridge ready to die
