Urban feline

by Joe Moore   Aug 4, 2004

Lurking in the shadows
you press imagination to wonder
what happens in the fold
especially when it's the moon she's under

what secrets fester inside
what amorous faces mime content
what demons plague her soul
and press her curse of descent

beautiful like a panther cat
urban feline queen
protecting the territory
reinstate who's crown supreme

cubs of the litter
seek wisdom and caring moments
future's envisioned and considered
yet no threat of dethronement

cautious eyes of security
make note of predator's approach
no hesitation to confrontation
as she eye's the vein of it's throat

black cat warrior
graceful and precise
strike once to remind
no need to strike twice

appreciation and adoration
shows jubilation of the pack
songs of admiration
raise celebration after the attack

prancing in her parade
the shadows give calm to her day
a moment to lick the wounds
moment to reminisce and pray

Urban feline queen
lurking in the fold
what wonders of tomorrow
does your grandeur behold
