The Truth

by Candice   Aug 11, 2004

Neither one remembers what brought them together
Neither recalls the day not time
They just remember talking to each other
And in no way was this their crime

They seemed to complete each others undone puzzle
Fitting exactly into that space
Filling the holes that no other souls could
And both entering that very special place

School was great although neither had a class together
There were the many letters that filled that gap
They began to trust each other
And how to comfort through the good and bad

Summer came quickly and this was terrible
One went one way and the other another way
Almost all communication was cut off
But they thought of each other every day

School started back
They were both sophomores now
But no matter what, they seemed to have grown apart
One asking herself "how?"

The fights got worse
And the caring seemed to stop
Their friendship was on a definite wrong course
Heading far from the top

Then one day it hit the one that was tearing them apart
I have to stop this, its wrong
She had found it in her heart
That this was the best friend she could ever have

Their friendship became the strongest it has ever been
They began to write and call once again
To share their feelings and ideas
And they knew they could both win

They realized that they were what they both needed
And they knew nothing could change that
So lets not let this summer, parents, or
Other friends destroy what we have worked so hard at.

Your the best friend anyone could have
And I know I haven't been exactly the same
But I hope one day I mean the same to you
That you mean to me
