Scared

by Jackie Bilson   Aug 11, 2004

My life was so empty,
Dark and deadly cold.
Not a hint of color,
No silver nor gold.

Freezing in the blackness,
Just waiting to die,
No more reason for living...
No point in asking why...

Out of the darkness came a blue light,
It sparkled and it was warm,
I rose to my knees and stared.
Not at all was I alarmed.

The warmth surrounded me,
I reach out to touch.
It recoiled ever so slightly,
I wanted it so much.

I couldn't embrace this thing,
I've had it once before.
I thought then, I'd be happy forever,
But it just left me feeling sore.

I want to play it safe,
But it looks so promising and sweet.
So I gathered up my courage,
And stood up on my feet.

I wrapped my arms around it,
And it started to transform.
Into the blue eyed boy I want to love,
It changed into his form.

I'm so happy to be here,
But I'm scared you too will leave me,
Leave me back in the darkness,
For all eternity.
