I'm Just Afraid

by Jackie Bilson   Aug 13, 2004

You want me to confirm,
If there is truth in what you've learnt?
If I love you or if I care,
Or being without you, I cannot bare?

I'm sorry but I can't admit,
That with your arrow, my heart you hit.
Because I'm unsure of your views,
If my reply will be humor used.

I've been hurt once too many,
I don't know love, or if there's any.
So please don't ask me to reply,
If you're the boy who caught my eye.

I know you'll leave me just like him,
Like a child in the ocean, who cannot swim.
You'll build me up to tear me down,
And when I need you, you won't be around.

I'm afraid of what you'll say,
Because once you know, you'll fade away.
My heart and soul will once again collapse,
And there will be no one left to fill the gaps.
