COMPANY

COMPANY

What do you do when company comes,
and they stay for days and days,
how do you tell em you want to rest,
to go out and catch some rays,
how do you tell em its time to go,
after a week or so,
do you tell em straight out,or give em a hint,
one thats not too subtle,
or do you make it a very strong hint,
one with no rebuttal,
like you been here a pretty long time,
now I have to go work,
you done ate me out of house and home,
and I feel like I'm going berzerk,
I really have things that have to be done,
I do them every year,
like bale the hay, slaughter a hog,
go coon huntin, with my old coon dog,
pick the corn, thresh the oats,
put up the hams, and milk the goats,
things that city folk think is fun,
makes a rancher work from sun to sun,
every season of the year,
I hate to see you go,
from your eye you wipe a tear,
as soon as they are around the bend,
you jump for joy, then you jump again,
suddenly your grin goes slack,
cause you know next year they'll all be back.
