I Love Him

Long, long ago
I met a young boy
He was everything I wanted
And he brought me so much joy

We became good friends
Talked everyday
We could finish each others sentences
Knew just what the other would say

Years went on
And this boy I grew to love
He seemed to love me too
Like some fairytale from above

I couldn't hold it in
So I told him how I felt
I told him how strongly I wanted him
And how he made my heart melt

He told me I couldn't love him
That we were simply best of friends
I must be having a crush
Something insignificant that would soon come to end

I didn't know what to say
I knew my love was true
But I went along with his theory
I couldn't let our friendship be through

Sure, I said to him
It must just be a crush
Then I turned to shed my tears
My lie...it hurt too much

Till this very day
I still go on with that lie
But the truth is that I love him
And without him, I would die
