Waring Signs

This poem was written by my best friend Rachel. I think it's amazing, so I thought it should get some recognition. Enjoy.

I wrote this one for English class...it's a murder ballad

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She sits up alone in her room
Reminiscing bout the past
Little does she know
This night will be her last
She's driving home from work
Thinking bout what to say
My daughter done bad again
So now she's gonna pay
Do they see the warning signs
25 scars on her arm
2 pill bottles to numb the pain
She's gonna go soon
Will they even care?
All she wants...is to get the heck outta here
She pleaded with her not to fight
Tears Rollin down her eyes
When it was finally over
She swore she'd give her mom a surprise
Do they see the warning signs
25 scars on her arm
2 pill bottles to numb the pain
She's gonna go soon
Do they even care
All she wants...is to get the heck outta here
(She doesn't really belong
Let this caged bird sing
Like a flower in the winter
Soon she'll be unseen)
Now she's contemplating her fate
She wonders...should it be fast or slow
And as it consumes her whole being
Her last words go as so...
Did they ever see the warning signs
25 scars on my arm
2 pill bottles to numb the pain
And now I'm going
Will they even care
All I want...is to get the heck outta here.
