Lost At Sea

by Tyler   Aug 24, 2004

Lost at sea I've fallen over board
the madness grabbed the constant "rest assured"
that you supplied my venerable mind
and now I'm being dragged under, by an unstoppable riptide

the sea below, although is itself alluring
the blackness giving away, i can see the monsters stirring
grasping up back to the surface
pleading to god that i cannot lose this

your hands slashing down into the blue apon blue
grab me quickly before i die and lose you
the blackness below, has me more than just panicked
i only swim for you arms, more than before frantic

the weight of life has dragged me deeper
and the effort to swim up has only made me weaker
your life saving hands are fading away
to be a memory along with the light of the day

deep down below, below the light from above
i welcome the monsters, longing for my true love
i know i can't live without you though
so when the beasts grab hold, i let go...

and with me lost, you don't know what its cost
i spent all my strength just for a moment with you
if i had only tried harder, if i had only been smarter
i could have made that moment come true
but whats done is done, and i guess we had fun
and now all i see around me is blue
my sight is blurred, and it seems absurd
that i spent all my strength for just a moment with you
