I'll never be free

by Joe Moore   Aug 29, 2004

They say I have a negative out look on life
That I look at all the bad
That I should expect to live a miserable existence
And walk around feeling sad
But that negative outlook you see
Is as positive as it will get
Cause there nothing positive
About the days that I live to regret

Can't be Positive about the way my life is today
For what when every good moment
Is cursed by two evils in its way
Every time I laugh and smile
Inside I begin to cry
Because I know that tomorrow's coming
just to bring that tear to my eye

America is a bad ass nation
No one can uproot the queen
They say not until the father
Comes and destroys everything
My condition is so horrible
That God even said
That you will never be free black man
Till the bottom becomes the head

Take the bottom to the top
And the top shall perish in fire
The bottom shall gain victory
After 6000 years trying to acquire
So if I look at the situation that sits before me
I'm not being negative just looking at reality.

Not till the last day
When the wrong are judged for their lies
Will there even be a chance
That I'll stare god in the eyes
So until the last day and the father stands visually
I am forsaken to live this life and know I'll never be free
