Not Meant to be?

Everything was over
A love not meant to be
When thing began to fall apart
All the blame came down on me
It had all been MY fault
Because of ME it didn't work
I had thrown it all away
By acting like a dork
But I could not believe it
I wouldn't let it be true
And so I turned the blame around
So it pointed straight at you
I convinced myself I hated you
That you had let me down
To keep myself from crying
To chase away a frown
So you returned my hate
And no longer would be my friend
I was happy to oblige
For my heart just would not mend

But now I wonder as I see your smile
And your shining eyes of blue
If you I am supposed to hate
Why do I feel like I still love you?
