Hidden, But Not Forgotten

by Katie   Sep 27, 2004

You told me not to love you
To let go, and forget
Said in such a heartless way
It seemed to be a threat

But hearts just don't work like that
Deep feelings can't let go
Even though I said I'd forgotten
If I did, I didn't know

Weeks went by, a month, a year
My love lay quite and hidden
I never wanted to feel it again
From my thoughts it was forbidden

Until the day I heard the words
That brought it rushing back
"His girlfriend Alex, you know that girl"
And from there my world went black

Amazing that those few simple words
Made me feel so rotten
It was that day I learned that love
Is hidden, not forgotten
