And I will

by Leticia   Sep 11, 2004

Every moment that passes by,
I sit and think to myself,
where my place is in this world
and why am I here.

Was I really put here on earth,
to make a difference?
Or am I here filling space
my parents had planned?

Then I stopped and realized,
it was no ones choice.
I kept myself here in reality
and decided on my own.

It is my choice to be here.
I chose to stay afloat,
and stand my ground.
I can do anything.

There will be no one to stop me,
from achieving my dreams,
accomplishing my goals,
and proving my existence.

There will no one to imprison me,
hold me against my will,
to shout out and be heard
by those who are afraid to speak.

When my time comes,
I will not be afraid.
I will stand on solid ground.
And I will make a difference.
