Fateful Goodbye

I'm sorry I have to go
But I'll never forget you; I'll have you know

It's breaking your heart, but mine's already dead
Your big blue eyes, reflecting in my head

It's not fair what I did, It jut wasn't right
But you should know that sometimes I cry at night

Because leaving your arms wasn't easy for me
It seemed effortless I know, but I guess you just can't see

That there are secrets in me that I just couldn't hide no more
So I guess to save myself I used the door

I have someone new now, but that doesn't mean that you've been forgotten
Your picture isn't in a box somewhere; your memory hasn't gone rotten

I still wonder where you are, if tears find your eyes
If you see the truth, through all the lies

Sometimes I see your shadow, on a lonely solemn wall
My hand aches for the phone, but I resist to call

We were going nowhere; it just had to end
But why am I still waiting for you, thinking you'll follow me around the bend

He's real great, and so were you
You were easier to talk to; I'll admit that was true

I still wonder if I made the right choice
Should I pick up and carry on, or should I listen to that little voice

But no more questions, I'm packed and leaving
Please don't be sad, I want to see you beaming

I want to see you smile, don't cry, I'll still be your friend
We can still laugh and smile till the end

So let's say farewell to love and hello to friends that don't lie
We'll pack up the "I love yous" and say goodbye
