When You Were Here

When things went wrong you were always there,
When I had a problem you always made things fair,
When my parents got divorced you were there to hold me tight,
When my sister died you tried to make things alright,

When I moved to another state,
You had to come with I think it was fate,
When my mother died from that car accident,
You helped me get though the twisted and bent,

When my father started drinking alot,
You helped me get though it and untie the knot,
When my brother overdosed on his drugs,
You were always there to give me a million hugs,

When I got pregnant with your child,
What you did was smile,
But when we lost him,
Our lives became more dim,

Our love was better then anything,
You are so important to me you were like my king,
But when you died from a heart attack,
My life was over because no one was there to keep me on track,

You were always there to make me happy,
But ever since you died I've been unhappy,
You were my shining star you were the light,
You were the thing in my life that made my life so bright.
