We Learn...

by Alya   Sep 19, 2004

We learn to deal with no ideal.
In worlds of treason's, and smoggy faces,
Among lovemaking, and money races-
We come to cherish what is unreal.

We lie to selves, and we lie to others.
We cling to passions and one another.
We search, we wonder, we know no better-
Lost in illusions of things and matters.

No truth is found, lies all around.
I wish I could our souls unbound:
From our habits, and from distrust.
I wish we could just give in to lust.

Sometimes it is better not to discuss
What is unspoken and overcast.
I'll keep despair under the lock.
Your fault there isn't ...It's only smog...

i don't see where some parts failed to make sence, I myself thought that the whole poem made perfect sence. I thought it was a very truthful poem and I enjoyed reading it....You have a great talent ALina and I hope to read many more of your poems.
