When You were Ten

by Kristin   Sep 19, 2004

Your face shows a smile,
yet your eyes tell a story,
outside you show style,
but on the inside there is no glory.

No one knew your dark secret,
which you always kept inside,
you never told a single soul,
how your family died.

We knew you were adopted,
when you were only ten,
but what we didn't know,
is what happened back then.

Finally some people,
found out your story,
they told everyone in school,
That your real name was Laurie.

You denied the whole thing,
but it was so true,
you were leading a fake life,
and now everybody knew.

Your family was killed,
while you were at the store,
They meant to kill you too,
But you weren't there anymore.

You came home to find,
a terrible, horrific sight,
your family lie in pieces,
and it started to become night.

You find a letter with your name,
Laurie, it read,
You will be next,
you went to the cops and fled.

They changed your identity,
when you were only ten,
know everyone knows,
what happened way back then.

Your life is in pieces,
again, at age fifteen,
You thought you made nice friends,
but deep down they were all mean.

You didn't want to change,
your name and home again,
this is all because of killers,
that changed your life back then.

You wanted to be with your family,
So you shot yourself in the head,
now you're truely happy,
because now you are dead.
