In the Night

by Amerimov   Sep 24, 2004

I see her in the bleak and lonely
Hours of the night
Her path is darkened, her door is shut
She holds no purpose
But for her a need I feel
Is straining my mind
I fear it will break

For her existence is meaningless
But to me her life is crucial
She'd throw it away, end the hate, end the pain
I need her to remain, I thrive off her pain
I care about her more than anything
Yet I can't let her go, can't let her do what she must
I want her to linger, I want her to remain

I can't have her slipping away
Into the cold, into the dark
I feel her leave, piece by piece
Disappearing, becoming translucent
I scream on the inside, my soul tearing in two
I can't let her go. But she will
