Despair

by Alya   Sep 27, 2004

I'm living off of my despair
I cling to pain behind veils.
All that's still breathing in my soul,
Belongs to no one, lone and sole.
In lazy movements as we touch,
Our bodies clutch ...
My heart's untouched.
Cold and judgmental as can be,
There's nothing there for you and me.
How hard I find it to trust,
That you can handle more than lust.
Knowing so much of one man's soul
I can project it on you all.
Oh, I was there with dreamy eyes,
To love and faith my singing prise,
But once heartbroken as I'm
There's no relying on a man.
There is no ease and no comfort
In the loneliness of any sort.
The only pleasure after all
Is for the body, not the soul.
So let me cling to pain inside,
As we make love...
'Cuz it feels right.
