Don't be mad because I'm something you can't change

by Sammie   Oct 3, 2004

It's funny how you say you love me,
and you say you care
So why can't you accept that
I'm different than you?
You say you love me for me..
but don't you see.
Who you love is who you
thought me to be..
I'm not the perfect daughter,
or the best friend everyone wants..
I too have my flaws..
But in every life, each chance is a lesson
And each lesson teaches you something new
But the best lesson are learned through pain,
and discovery, of what you don't want to accept.
Like the fact that I'm bi,
you don't think that it's right..
You put me down for loving a girl,
but tell me if you were me how would you feel?
You are ashamed of me, I see it all..
so how can you see you love me for who I am?
This is who I am, no longer
pretending to be like everyone else..
I no longer am scared of what you might think,
or what you might say.
Because..the truth of the matter is..
this is me, and I am something you can't ever change..
