A friend to remember

by Heidi   Oct 13, 2004

During my childhood, a special friend was mine,
We laughed and cried together, whether rain or shine
I have so many memories, of growing up together,
So many, many happy times; we thought would last forever

After many years together, our friendship fell apart,
The day that she was sent away, truly broke my heart
We do not stay in contact; she’s sunken in my past
But memories of her friendship, will forever last

She was there when I needed someone, as I was to her,
Some things that happened then are now such a blur
But I can speak of her, as a true amazing lass,
And I do hope in her heart, she thinks about the past

For our friendship were a sea breeze, a true and lasting one,
I know it was a pleasure, it don’t happen to everyone
So hear my words I tell you, I am lucky to have felt,
A friendship warm and precious, which made my heart melt.

So as I lay down to rest, I think about you truly,
I wish you all the best in life, and hope you live it thoroughly,
With you in my heart, and our memories in my mind
Goodnight, god bless honey, may happiness you find.
