Disempowered, I still love you

by brin macnamara   Oct 15, 2004

My dreams have now become a reality; meagre imaginings
For the sunlight that is you has faded from my sight
You disregard me; a curtain of ice your mantle
We pass unrecognized, indifferent to each others essence.
you don't see me, I want to weep, beseech you to smile, to rest awhile, to talk.

I am powerless, weakened when I encounter you.
Unable to pull my heart from you,
Your talons are firmly fixed in my very being.
Bleeding me, draining my life blood slowly,
plunging in deeper, deeper each time I hear you speak.

What manner of restraint has this woman over me?
Commanding my day, lording over my night!
Every movement she makes sends seismic shudders through my dwindling heart.
Her lips are touched with fire,
lips that repel lipstick
Yet invite passion, encourage lust.

When I see you I see beauty rise from the earth
Rise and drift like mist,
Magical, mystical, yet delicately transparent.
How my heart sighs for your love,
soul yearning to embrace you. Meanwhile...a lonely violin serenades the death throws of my heart.
