The Significance of Life

by Nicholas   Oct 17, 2004

I never truly understood
The significance of life
The pain, the suffering
The unrelentless strife
Why do we torture ourselves
Each and every day
Then we decide to play it off
And act like we're okay
Why do we torment ourselves
Through such very painful trials
That send us into hell and back
And walk us through the miles
Miles of rage and gluttony
Of envy and despair
Taking turns of deep vengeance
Without a single care
Although I'll continue on
Living through such strife
I'll never truly understand
The significance of life.
