Match Maker

by Tiffany Marie   May 30, 2003

You were one of my close friends,
And so was she.
You two were both single,
How could that be?

I introduced you to each other,
And recommended a date.
Then I started feeling love for you,
But it was too late.

You and her made a connection,
A relationship too strong.
You spent all of your time together,
Now, where do I belong?

I want to be in your mind,
And inside your heart.
I want us to be together,
And not torn apart.

All of these feelings remain in my heart,
For there is nowhere else to put them.
I am afraid if I let you know,
You will break them like a stem.

So for now they will stay there,
All locked away,
Hopefully I can let them out...
Someday.

very nice poem, a few flow problems but other than that a very nice poem, with hate, love, and wanting to belong all tied up together. i really like this stanza and the line "now where do i belong". it was meaningful and a good decription of the title match maker. "its like i made this happen so won't you let me in"

but very nice poem and enjoyable to read---tara
