an american girl
making it through this world
somewhere my identity lies
behind the music i love
to the right of my broken heart
and slightly above the ocean blue
of my eyes
you think you know me
when i don't even know myself
hold me tightly
can you feel my trembling insecurities
I am not complete
I am not who you want me to be
I am not the mask you see
I am not anyone
but me
