Another statistic

She was just another statistic
just another suicidal teen
known around the school
as the teenage drama queen
no one bothered to listen why
her little voice was drowned out by
the mocks and laughs of fellow peers
so all she'd do was shed her tears..

he was just another statistic
another kid kicked to the streets
because he thought he'd try drugs
and became too far out of reach
he didn't know where else to turn
but to his gun, need he not return
he took his life that fateful night
because no one chose to spread their light...

let this be a lesson, to anyone who'll listen
you cannot look at somebody and label them for what they appear to be on the outside... look at somebody and really see them. everybody needs a friend, and everybody needs love
