December Dreams

December Dreams

Walking down the street alone
Smiling at the people passing me by
I don't ever wanna go back home
Till I can look into your eyes again
You told me you'd always be here with me
Now I'm standing solitude under the frostbitten sky
I'm running, crying, calling out your name
You're everywhere but where I am

Chorus
I'm here surrounded by the winter air
Watching every delicate snowflake fall
Wondering why I'm still holding on
Like desolate icicles glistening on the roof
I'm praying to the stars above
Hoping they'll answer my call tonight
Waiting, waiting in this snow covered valley
Trying to piece together my December dreams

The footprints in the snow are gone now
Can't trace my way back into your arms
Remember the snow angels we made that day
They're melted, gone away with you

My emotions showing on a storefront display
Maybe you'll walk by here someday
You can't hear my heart screaming out
It's locked away in this crystal snow globe

I'm surrounded by the winter air (slashing at my tear-stained cheeks)
Watching every delicate snowflake fall (falling like my dying hopes)
Wondering why I'm still holding on (onto the love that's not there)
Like desolate icicles glistening on the roof (fragile like the pieces of my shattered heart)
I'm praying to the stars above (but they're not listening)
Hoping they'll answer my call tonight (an unheard plea)
waiting, waiting in this snow covered valley (like my snow covered vision)
Trying to piece together my December dreams (this holiday season)

The church bells ringing as we strike midnight
You're still everywhere but nowhere in sight

Chorus x2
